Speech Outline –

I. Introduction – Get the audience’s attention with an enticing hook!
a. Opening – Describe a “moment in time” to set the scene.
b. Should this person matter to us? If so, why? If not, why not?
c. Goal of the speech – What you hope the audience will learn from your speech.
II. Body – Answer the question using your Renaissance person’s life as evidence.
a. Introduce your person. Where/when did he/she live?
b. What were some of the main details/events of her/his life?
c. What did he/she contribute to the world? What is he/she famous for?
III. Conclusion – Summarize what you’ve told us (in different way than you did in the introduction)
a. Summary of your person’s accomplishments
b. Strong concluding sentence – why we should care about your person!
