II. Course Standards
This product is a large contributor to the following standards:
Students can analyze the relationship between technology and community.
Students articulate their ideal vision of the relationship between technology and community.
Students can craft high-quality compositions that effectively utilize the 6+1 writing traits.
III. The Essay
Your essay will answer the question "What, in your opinion, is the ideal relationship between technology and community?" Consider (among other things) transportation, communication, entertainment, education, and medicine.
This essay will be typed, double-spaced, in a readable 12-point font, as long as it needs to be. You will use examples from the texts we have read and cite them using MLA formatting (including a Works Cited page).
IV. The Creative Piece
Your creative piece will do one of the following:
Demonstrate your vision of the ideal relationship between technology and community
Demonstrate your vision of a dystopia, specifically one where the relationship between technology and community is NOT ideal.
You may choose almost any medium: story, poem, song, or artistic piece, in which to express your ideas.
